About Me
Hello,
My name is Jeffery Womack, this is my 13th year in Education. I started out in HEB ISD in Bedford, Texas as 5th grade Math and Language Arts teachers. I moved to 4th grade for the next two years, teaching math and Science. Then for the next 4 and half years, I taught 6th grade math and science. During that time I started using all of the new technology our district was purchasing, I quicky became the go to guy on our campus to help with other “issues” that my fellow co-workers were having. Most of my “Knowleged” in technolgy is from just playing with it and figuring it out over time.
Five and half years ago Birdville ISD in Haltom City, Texas created 12 Technolgoy Specialit positions, I applied and was offered one of the 12 positions. Since that time, I have learned more than I every would have dreamed. Currently I am the Handheld Specialist for the District. I help support the Handheld devices used for TPRI testing, and for PDAS software that Administrators use for Teacher appraisals. I also have reciently developed an addiction to Geocaching, go to www.geogaching.com to learn more. I am currently working on lessons that incorporate this GPS technolgy into the currently curriculum.
On a personal note, I have been married for 5 1/2 years, I have two children, a four year old daughter, a son who will be a year old in less than a month, and one due to arrive in late March. We just went on our first adventure to Disney Land, after the inital crowd shock, Dad calmed down and had a wonderful time with his family. Before I was a dad my wife I was huge outdoor enthusiast and I look forward to get back out there with children once they are old enough to enjoy the great outdoors.
